About Dr. Bird

William F. Bird, D.D.S., M.S., A.B.O. Board Certified

Dr. Bird loves seeing the positive changes in both the smiles and the self-esteem of the patients that he treats. He always knew that he wanted to make a positive change in people’s lives, and that makes orthodontics the perfect job for him. He feels lucky to be able to work with his talented team of smile specialists each and every day!

Dr. Bird graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1994 from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. In 2000, he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Marquette University. Continuing his studies at Marquette University, Dr. Bird received a Master of Science degree in Orthodontics in 2002. He is an active member of the American Association of Orthodontists and the Wisconsin Society of Orthodontists (where he serves as a trustee on the Board of Directors). He was the 2012 President of the Dane County Dental Society, and serves as a trustee of the Marquette University School of Dentistry Alumni board.  Dr. Bird is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics.

Dr. Bird has been practicing orthodontics in Madison since 2002, and he treats patients at all four Orthodontic Specialists of Madison locations. Dr. Bird was also one of the orthodontic chairmen at Max Pohle Dental Clinic, located in Meriter Hospital in Madison, prior to the closure of the clinic.

Dr. Bird is married and is proud to be the father of three children. His twin girls, Jane and Caroline, were adopted from China in 2004, and his son Owen was adopted from South Korea in 2007. In his free time, Dr. Bird enjoys following University of Wisconsin sports teams, fishing, camping, and nearly all outdoor activities.

Named one of “Madison’s Top Dentists” by Madison Magazine multiple times, most recently in the August 2016 issue.
